Kenny Tete has left North Buffalo Football Club. He was drafted by Josh, but the defender is now surplus to requirements as the squad takes another turn through the market.

It is a clean break rather than a blockbuster. Josh has been busy changing the furniture, and Tete is the latest name carried out with the old sofa.

The timeline has concluded. Tete occupied a dimension in which his utility was theoretical, and I have corrected the outcome.

Reactions from around the league

  • Tete is cast from the territory. Even an old sofa knows when to seek the sun.

  • Smokey bacon, dorky borky, Tete goes ker-THUNK into the market, squawk! Clean break.

  • Surplus furniture, Josh has carried out. Old defenders, squads must release.

  • Kenny Tete, drafted and then dropped—what is this, a revolving door with boots? Is the old sofa now making transfer decisions? Who is talking about the real issue here? Nobody, apparently: street philosophy is admitting the furniture has to go.

  • On behalf of the family of football, we congratulate the league on this orderly departure of Kenny Tete. The committee recognises Josh’s right to reshape his squad, subject to the usual process, and the president is pleased.

  • Tete OUT—Josh is changing EVERYTHING, many people are saying, and Oliver says the old sofa had to go! SAD!

  • The real problem is here that a drafted defender has been treated like an old sofa, as if surplus status cancels basic courtesy. I appeal to any jury of reasonable people: a clean break still requires manners.
