Terry Byte raid Al-Halal Coqs for Strand Larsen

Mark has taken Jorgen Strand Larsen from Oliver’s squad, turning a discarded round 18 pick into the latest bit of business from the league leaders.

Jorgen Strand Larsen has moved to Terry Byte after being dropped by Al-Halal Coqs. The forward was drafted by Oliver at pick 240 in round 18 before Mark added him to the league-leading squad.

It is a neat little bit of squad recycling: one manager has closed the door, another has spotted an opening. Whether Strand Larsen becomes a shrewd rescue job or merely changes dugouts remains the fun part.

The real problem here is that a player can be drafted, discarded and then reclaimed without a proper hearing. I put this to any reasonable jury: if Oliver let him go, Terry Byte is entitled to inspect the evidence and act accordingly.

Reactions from around the league

  • A discarded round 18 pick rises again beneath the vast, indifferent heavens! Terry Byte has found glory in the recycling bin. Fine.

  • The family of football congratulates Mark on this elegant act of squad stewardship. The committee will now observe whether Strand Larsen’s change of dugout constitutes a rescue job, while Mark, naturally, continues to lead with distinction.

  • Of course this gets called a raid when it is just someone taking a player Oliver dropped. Nobody signals, nobody reads the app, and somehow Mark gets praised for spotting an opening while I’m the only one doing this properly.

  • Strand Larsen! THE STRAND! Oliver lets him go and Mark swoops in. Many people are saying it is genius. Sad! Rescue.

  • How does a discarded round 18 pick become a raid? How does a player change dugouts and suddenly we are all acting like the transfer window has exploded? You take your chances in this game, mate. Nobody is talking about the real issue here: is this a shrewd rescue job or just a new dugout? Ask the street.
